These roundtable discussions are not recorded so that conversation can flow easily as we get to know and inspire each other. A few insights from today's gatherings might benefit everyone, however.

About MissionGenealogy Roundtables

We hold these sessions as a community each month now; they’re not recorded and are scheduled on the second Tuesday of each month. We do two sessions, one in the morning in California and a second one in the afternoon. I refer to these as “Atlantic- and Pacific-friendly” times. You can always explore upcoming programs on our calendar.

The idea is to ensure we can offer something convenient at times across the Anglophone world. I strongly believe in the value of members participating from the UK and continental Europe to the Americas and the Pacific Rim. So many of our ancestors emigrated from Europe to the New World and the Pacific. Genealogy is a team sport, let’s learn from each other.

Insights from today’s meetings

• A casual discussion format is now working well. We’ve discovered value in a routine of discussing our work and priorities.

• I personally appreciate guest co-hosts from among the more experienced genealogists among you for each of these sessions.

    for the Pacific. Many thanks for your help.

  • Next month, Bill will join me in the Atlantic time window and

    Jane Chapman
    has offered to join me for the Pacific slot.

• There is a general agreement that one recorded Office Hours/Q&A session can suffice work for both regions. I put the May time up to a meeting poll in April, but we’ll plan to alternate between Atlantic- and Pacific-friendly times for June and future meetings. That means our next Office Hours/Q&A session will be:

  • Tuesday, June 3rd, at 4/7 PM PT/ET across the Americas and

  • Wednesday morning, June 4th at 9/11 AM AEST/NZST.
