This month, our Roundtable topic will be about:
A Family History Discovery
Yes, you will be in the company of folks who love talking about genealogy! So think about which Family History Discovery you want to share with us at the Roundtable. What did it mean for your research? Did your discovery change your understanding of your family? Did it lead to many more family lines?
Grab your coffee or tea and settle in for a great conversation about our favorite topic!
How the Roundtable will Work: Purpose & Protocol
Have a conversation that revolves around genealogy/family history.
Connect with each other to support the success of our Substack Publications.
Be kind to each other.
Be mindful of time when speaking. Time will be determined by the number of participants.
Once you’ve finished speaking, select the next person to speak.
There will be 2 different ways to engage during the Roundtable: It’s completely your choice.
Participants: You will have the opportunity to
Introduce yourself.
Introduce your Substack Publications and what subscribers can discover there.
Share a family history discovery.
You can join the conversation as a participant - as indicated by your camera being turned on. That is how the group will know you want to share.
Audience members: You can choose to enjoy the conversation, but not share.
You can indicate that you choose to be an audience member by turning off your camera. The group will know you don’t want to be called on to share if your camera is turned off.
Is the Roundtable Recorded?
The Roundtable will not be recorded, because we want it to be a relaxed, easy place to have a community conversation. We will take notes about the overall conversation of the Roundtable. The notes will be published on
within a couple of days. The Roundtable is in support of the purpose behind .
We want to captivate the imagination of a vital community of family historians in which the spirit of collaboration, mutual support of our Substack publications and, well just getting the chance to talk with others interested in Genealogy exist.
Live Chat!
will host a live chat during the Roundtable. You will receive an email about 15 minutes before the Roundtable begins with a link to the live chat.
How to use the live chat.
Say hello to the group by letting us know you’re here.
Make comments related to the conversation happening in the Roundtable. This is open to both participants and audience members.
In addition, it is a great place to invite others to your Substack publication by adding a link in the chat.
Did you hear someone say something interesting you’d like to hear more about? Mention it in the chat.
